February Events at the DHF Tech Center

We are rockin’ and rollin’ in 2014! I missed the January blog post but this past month has been packed with our Anniversary Showcase, showing off to Maryland Delegates in Annapolis, snow cancellations, planning for sumer, and starting our new Spring Programs!  Looking forward, February is a short month but just as full as every other.


I am very excited to officially announce our Summer 2014 Maker Camp series! Camps designed for grades 6-10 will be 9 a.m. – 1 p.m, camps designed for grades 3-5 will be 9 a.m.- 12 p.m, and camps designed for grades 1-2 will be 1 p.m.-4 p.m. A showcase on the concluding Friday of each session will be held from 12 p.m.- 1 p.m. Register here. Saturday, February 1, 4th Annual Progressive Ed Summit – DHF staffers Meg and Amber will be presenting on turning classrooms into a mini Makerspace.

Thursday, February 20, BCPSS Reverse Mentoring 6:30-7:30 p.m. – Ever feel like report cards are not as simple as they used to be? Want help making sense of the test and school data? This six (6) session workshop series will help you access the important information and data on your child and their school and find the tools to understand it all. We will help you get set up with everything from an email account to a login for the school system tools. Youth from Digital Harbor Foundation to walk you through each step and help answer your questions. Register here.

Wednesday, February 26, Teach For America Digital Change Agent Professional Learning Community – Teach for America corps members and alumni will join forces with Digital Harbor Foundation Youth Members to create a project to meaningfully integrate technology into their classroom.
