DHHS Garden

BICO currently has partnerships with five local area organizations. Typically, a BICO Certified Leader is designated as the point person to foster the partnership and lead a team of BICO volunteers in organizing outings with youth participants from the agency. The current BICO partnerships are as follows: As of 11/10/2012 College Gardens and Paul's Place are most in need of volunteers and those willing to become certified volunteer leaders.

College Gardens Community Center
The YMCA at College Gardens Community Center seeks to build strong kids, strong families and a strong community through programs which focus on the development of mind body and spirit. Comprehensive  afterschool and summer programs for children and teens encompass a variety of activities including academic assistance, cultural arts, recreation, sports,outdoor education as well as leadership development, service learning and

monthly family nights.

Digital Harbor High School
Digital Harbor is an innovative technology-focused high school located in historic Federal Hill overlooking Baltimore Harbor. A school of choice, students are chosen by lottery from communities across Baltimore City. The mission of Digital Harbor is to prepare students for college, careers in technology, and responsible citizenship .Opened in 2002, the beautiful building underwent a multi-million dollar renovation to support high-tech programs. Students say the top ten reasons for attending Digital Harbor are: computer technology pathways, honors/AP program, modern facility, diversity, safety, location, sports, clubs/activities, faculty, and reputation. The population of 840 students is 72% African American, 23% white, and 5% other ethnicities. 'Media and Video. Paul's Place
Paul's Place is located in the heart of Washington Village/Pigtown in Southwest Baltimore and was founded in 1982. This non-profit outreach center provides programs, services, and support that strengthen individuals and families; fostering hope, personal dignity, and growth. For child and youth in the community, Paul's Place offers daily after school programs for grades 1 through 12 focusing on a variety of activities including academic support, health and wellness, personal enrichment, and fun! Southwest Baltimore Charter School
Southwest Baltimore Charter School (SBCS) is a K-8 public school serving over 400 students in Baltimore's Washington Village/Pigtown community. Founded in 2005, SBCS follows the Expeditionary Learning Model, a school reform model developed in 1992 in partnership with Outward Bound. Mi Espacio
"Mi Espacio" Program, founded in 2002, is an after-school program for youth in grades 6-12. This bilingual program (Spanish-English) is sponsored by the Baltimore City Health Deparment. Mi Espacio aims to decrease pregnancies in Hispanic adolescents in Baltimore city. The program consists of academic and personal enrichment programs ranging from sexual education, homework help and tutoring, art, sports, career exploration, community involvement and field trips.
