Mini Makers


Mini Makers is an after-school program focused on introducing young makers to the exciting intersection of art, technology, and making. This program allows elementary-aged youth to explore, build, learn, solve, and most importantly, grow as a maker.

Mini Makers imagine, plan, communicate, then create original projects from stop-motion animation to Minecraft, Scratch-based video games, upcycling, 3D printing, laser-cutting, and more.

Spring 2017 Cycle 2 Courses

Mighty Machines

Mighty Machines takes the best of Circuit Adventures and Kinetic Chaos and puts them together to make one great course! We will learn basic electronics to create motors and controls for machines and youth will leave this course with understanding of how to complete a circuit and some basic programming.

  • Course Dates: Wednesday April 19, 2017 – Wednesday May 17, 2017
  • Grade Level: 3rd – 5th
  • Course Schedule:
    • 2 days per week
    • Monday and Wednesday
    • 4pm – 6pm
    • Doors open at 2:45, Free afterschool meal served at 3:15

Website Wizards

In this course, each Mini Maker will learn how to program and design their very own website – everything from creating URLs for pictures to picking out fonts that give their website character. This is a beginners course for website development focused on giving Mini Makers an opportunity to become familiar with terminology when programming and knowledge of what it takes to create a website.

  • Course Dates: Tuesday April 18, 2017 – Tuesday May 16, 2017
  • Grade Level: 3rd – 5th
