The Perpetual Innovation Fund is a Digital Harbor Foundation initiative that fosters innovation and entrepreneurship in schools across the country. The fund provides initial investment for educator-led youth entrepreneurship clubs to get a 3D printer, as well as full training, in order to start their own youth enterprise. We have already seen some amazing educator-led youth business plans for 3D designs and printing clubs — making everything from 3D printed iPhone cases to customized ornaments, 3D scans, houseware, and even prosthetic hands! Interested educators first put together a business plan and then are paired with a mentor before getting funded. When he/she receives his/her 3D printer and training the educator commits that he/she will use profits from the club’s enterprise to contributing that full amount back into the fund. This perpetual funding cycle will then empower another club to start their own educator-led youth enterprise.
