Maker Camp


Digital Harbor Foundation is excited to announce 2018 Maker Camp!

Digital Harbor Foundation’s Maker Camp is a summer camp program for youth featuring highly engaging, hands-on learning experiences with a focus on technology and maker activities. Youth in grades 1-10 can enjoy sessions on topics such as 3D printing, electronics, design, gaming, and more. Additionally, DHF Members can enjoy advanced camps created just for them throughout the summer.

Each Maker Camp session is half-day and runs for two weeks throughout June-August.

All camps are Pay-What-You-Can and are held at the DHF Tech Center.

Elementary Maker Camp Sessions

2D to 3D DESIGN

Grades 1-5
Come and learn how to design fun images and graphics in 2D — then put that knowledge to use in three dimensions with 3D printing and other digital fabrication techniques! No prior experience necessary.

Grades 1-5
Come explore architecture around the world using Minecraft. With a dash of red stone, and a spoonful of diamond ore, we’ll have the perfect recipe to construct a thriving community.

Looking for a challenge? Let’s put those 3D design skills to the test! We will push our modeling, circuit, and design skills to create all new projects using 3D printing.

This course is ONLY for youth who have completed 2D to 3D Design during Maker Camp -OR – have participated in afterschool programs within the past year.

Grades 6-10
Explore 3D Printing as you turn your digital designs into physical objects! Come and learn to use software and a 3D printer to design and then fabricate your own custom objects straight from your imagination! No prior experience necessary.

Raspberry Pi for the Web is a summer course where you’ll explore the Raspberry Pi and build your own web server! This course focuses on developing foundation skills in the command line and Raspberry Pi as well as web technology. Take this course if you’re interested in exploring the Raspberry Pi and want to develop crucial skills that will enable you to put content on the web.

  • You’re interested in exploring new hardware (the Raspberry Pi)
  • You want to learn about how websites are served on the web
  • You’re interested in learning the basics of command line and the Linux operating system

This course will focus on developing web games using HTML and JavaScript. If you’re interested in leveling up your programming skills and creating mini-games, this course is for you!

DIY Robot Challenge is a summer course where you’ll learn to create your own robot using 3D printing and simple electronics. This course will focus on the skills needed to build a small robot that can complete specific challenges by programming your robot to do different things such as complete a maze.

  • You enjoy assembling components to create something new
